Our cuvées, Tradition and L’Illustre Voyageur, are already featured in the wine lists of Michelin-starred restaurants (such as Geosmine – Paris), prestigious maisons like Lenôtre (Victor-Hugo, Auteuil, Neuilly), and luxury hotels including the Bulgari Hotel Paris and Cheval Blanc Paris. A Limited Production, A Mark of Exclusivity

Each year, we produce approximately 25,000 bottles, including just 1,500 of L’Illustre Voyageur. These small quantities ensure true rarity and position us far from mass distribution channels. For wine merchants and restaurateurs, listing Lestang 1573 means offering a confidential wine, reserved for a discerning circle.

A Heritage and Terroir That Fuel Your Storytelling

The Château de Lestang is first mentioned in 1573, with the En Fricambault parcel cited as early as 1453. In the 19th century, it was home to Jean-Guillaume Hyde de Neuville, a statesman and friend of Chateaubriand—whose nickname, The Illustrious Traveler, inspired our signature cuvée. The estate still houses century-old trees, including a cedar planted by Chateaubriand himself.

Our vineyard spans 3 hectares of AOC-classified Sancerre, exclusively planted with Sauvignon Blanc. The 100% flint soil (silex) lends the wine its signature vibrant minerality, notes of gunflint, and a crystalline tension. This rare terroir is the DNA of all our cuvées.

A Certified Commitment to Sustainability

We are proud to be the first independent wine estate certified “Low Carbon” by ADEME. This is now complemented by our certification in organic viticulture, demonstrating a strong alignment between quality and environmental responsibility.

Our practices include:

  • Eco-grazing with sheep,
  • Installation of beehives to support biodiversity,
  • Manual vineyard work,
  • Use of lightweight, recycled bottles.

These tangible commitments add significant value for clients sensitive to sustainable sourcing.
